Robert Cooper
CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Rob Cooper is Chief Executive of Forbes Ventures. He is an expert in financial services risk management and regulation with 15 years experience in the sector. Through Janus VC he is an investor in start-up firms that seek to disrupt traditional professional services through the use of technology. This includes investments in the legal, financial and property sectors including wealth management, peer to peer lending, debt crowdfunding, legal services outsourcing, and property assets.
Rob is a director of, and major shareholder in, CC Capital Limited which holds an equity position in Forbes Ventures.
Rob is also an approved person under the Financial Conduct Authority regime and the Solicitors Regulatory Authority regime, and holds a number of board positions in firms in which he has invested.
It is Rob’s expertise in professional services, technology and business automation which provides Forbes Ventures with the relevant expertise for its investment focus.
Peter Moss
NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
Mr. Moss is the Non-Executive Chairman of Forbes Ventures. He is the Corporate Development Officer for Energy Investment Company BV, a Dutch/USA private concern who develop integrated LNG-to-power solutions in global emerging markets. Mr. Moss also is Non-Executive Chairman of GreenFin Energy BV, a Dutch Energy Service Company offering decentralised power solutions.
From 2006-2019, he was a Director of the Revelation Special Situations Fund, an investment manager based in Bermuda. He served as member of the Advisory Committee of Max Petroleum PLC, an AIM-listed oil and gas E&P firm with interests in Kazakhstan from 2011-2013. From 2006-2011 he was Max Petroleum’s Senior VP for Corporate Development and was instrumental in forming an investor group which provided the capital for the company’s IPO on AIM in 2005 and subsequent capital raisings. Mr. Moss is a former CEO of AIM-listed Zoltav Resources and a Director of NYSE-Listed Evergreen Energy Inc. From 2004-2011, he was a Non-Executive Director of AIM-listed Crosby Asset Management Ltd. He has held additional board positions with a number of other public and private corporations.
Mr. Moss’ earlier career was spent in investment banking and brokerage firms including Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette, Commerzbank, Merrill Lynch and GFI Group Inc., with an emphasis on business development and hedge fund strategies, including risk and capital structure arbitrage. He studied Geology and Economics at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and is a graduate of Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, MA.
Nigel Quinton
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Nigel Quinton is Chief Financial Officer of Forbes Ventures. He is an experienced finance professional that has held senior finance positions in Building societies, wealth management and specialist lending firms. He has been the Chief Executive of two building societies and more recently has been advising Financial Services firms, including a new banking start-up, on financial and risk management.
Nigel has held significant sector wide roles including Chairman of the Northern Association of Building Societies. His specialisms include all matters financial, governance, risk, lending, treasury and business strategy.
Bill Riordan
NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
William (“Bill”) Riordan is a Non-Executive Director of Forbes Ventures. Bill has over 30 years’ experience of advising SME clients in the North West of the UK and for the last 20 years he has focused on all aspects of litigation funding and After the Event insurance. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Bill worked in accountancy, taxation and Investment Banking in Dublin, before moving to the UK.
Bill’s extensive knowledge of litigation funding and insurance is of significant benefit to the Company as it implements its strategy focused on the securitisation of litigation funding and other assets.
